Honeymoon Taipei Day 5. Part 2..
April 7, 2008 by TA
Lili lily where were you?
The plain plantation in view was all brown and green. No, there was no white lily in sight!
It must be anything but the lily blooming season now haha! It was a hit-and-miss attempt to bring my wife up here for her glimpse of the lilies.. Sorry dear! :-(
If you’ve missed Part 1 of Day 5..
We snapped some pictures then rushed up a passing mini bus to go where it took us – volcanic terrain of XiaoYouKeng. Among throngs of hikers snaking through the cool misty air, we had some “explosive” fun time posing and taking pics.
Leaving the majestic YMShan and her Sunday followers, we rode bus Red 5 to ShiLin Mrt Station.
Enquired again at the Station counter for shuttle bus to Miramar Entertainment Park.. The Mrt lady staff directed me to JianTan Mrt Station where the shuttle bus was. As she spoke behind glass I couldn’t hear her well what sounded like “chi (eat)”. I reckoned she was telling me that there would be eating places at JianTan and Miramar or something.
My wife heard her clearly – the lady was telling me I can’t “chi kou xiang tang (chew gum)” in the Mrt! I was chewing away as lady spoke, that’s why! Hilarious! Pai seh! :-P
A quick wait and shuttle bus took us from JianTan Station to Miramar Entertainment Park. It was open spaces here. 3 complexes stood around you – Miramar Shopping Centre, Geant Hypermart & Carrefour Hypermart. A private residential area stood a stone’s throw away from Carrefour..
Dined our fill (burp!) at the small Foodcourt in Geant complex. Huge sets of Hotplate Beef Noodles and Hotplate Chicken Cutlet in Curry for wife and me respectively (about TWD130 each). Shopped and found prices at Geant comparatively lower than Carrefour’s.
From both Hypermarts, we bought Taiwanese flavours (Beef, Mushroom etc) Biscuits gift packs, Powdered Green Tea, Wrigley Gums, for souvenirs. Also a Sushi set (10 pieces for TWD99), a steamed Honey-coated Sweet Potato TWD50, and box of Grapes for night snacks.
Paid TWD200 each to ride the Ferris Wheel. We shared some moments quiet and tender inside.
No, we did no hanky panky stuff la. This was what happened – poor wife was immobilized with fear, as the wheel lifted us off the Miramar complex and nightlife below!
I took 2 quick self-timed snapshots then sat arm over her, till the ride was over in about 15 minutes.. A crowded shuttle bus took us back to JianTan Station then it was back to TS for night snacking and rest..
While wife sat still and eyes shut in the Ferris Wheel high up in the cool Taipei night skies, I popped my “honeymoon question”..
“Will you marry me – all over again?”
Read on.. We haven’t had enough fun. Let’s check out a unique town in outer Taipei tomorrow!
