Honeymoon Taipei Day 3. Part 1..
March 22, 2008 by TA
…. Day 3: YehLiu Geological Park . KeeLung: Harbourside, MiaoKou Night Market . Train Travel to Taipei . ShinKong Life Main Store ….
Good morning! We woke up at 6am today – again!
Tucked into a light hotel breakfast then made our way to Taipei Mrt Station.
Outside the Station, “Ba Bian” anti-president activities were about to start. We too, did our “coverage”, snapping pictures of the beginning buzz: outdoor stage, media vans and police buses..
Located Taipei Intercity Bus Terminal to buy return bus tickets to/from JinShan, then a packed Sushi meal TWD75 from a kiosk. Silly me! I needed just one-trip tickets, so went back to refund. In 15 minutes I was in 2 counters: One to buy, the other to refund! Wake up! :B
“Ya liu!” The bus driver shouted. About an hour’s bus ride has brought us to this unidentifiable “bus stop” along a busy road. Walked about 15 minutes into YehLiu Geological Park, TWD100 entry for 2 persons.
We enjoyed our Sushi lunch takeaway on the decks lining the coast, overlooking the deep blue sea and foamy white waves. Took plenty of snapshots as we climbed and posed among the rock formations.
YehLiu Old Street was like a tourist trap haha! Visitors innocently followed exit signs leading from the Park, into its alleys selling local preserved seafood etc. Each of us took an AiYu Jelly drink (2 for TWD50).
Opposite the bus stop where we had alighted this morning, the buses to KeeLung sped by so quickly! A lady waved to stop one and a group of us dashed to board it eagerly, reaching KeeLung Harbourside in about 30 minutes.
It was drizzling. We decided to relax at Starbucks Cafe by the Harbourside. Back in Singapore, we don’t frequent Starbucks, or any other 4-or-more-bucks-a-cuppa coffee joint.. Maybe we can check this one out..
A quick peek showed us a quiet second level overlooking the KeeLung harbour. Pampering plush seats cuddling caffeine-drinkers as music soothed the air..
The invitation is obvious – time to chill!! :-D
I ordered Brew-of-the-Day Coffee (about TWD70 each) for both of us. While my wife sat and waited, I sneaked out to the Cake Shop behind..
Read on.. Was wife thrilled? Did we chilled?
