Creative “tweaking” of where to go on which day formed the main changes behind this draft of our coming 8-days Taiwan tour. See the earlier draft here

for an idea..

It is a nimble process. From steering away from the maddening crowds when we want to, to making sure the destinations will be lively (yet hopefully, not congested) on our visit. Overall, spreading the fun throughout our time in Taiwan.

Hey! I also want to squeeze in more than half a day for a themed railway tour. Along the amazing Eastern coasts of the island.. Hmm, how can I fit this in? ;-)

Anyhow, will version 3.0 here be a fun-filled itinerary?

….. Day 1 Wednesday …..

Dive into Taipei!

• Flight from Singapore to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
• Coach travel from airport to Taipei Main Station area.
• Check in hotel around Xi Men Ding area.
• Quick experiencing of Taipei 101 mall.
• Shop and snack at Tong Hua/ Lin Jiang night market.

Or alternatively..

• Dinner and explore Xi Men Ding hub near hotel after check-in.
• Buy tickets in advance for HSR and railway train travel at Taipei Main Station.
• Buy fruits and local snacks at Carrefour XMD to chill and rest early in hotel.

….. Day 2 Thursday …..

Yeh Liu. Ping Xi. Kee Lung!

• Railway travel to Kee Lung station.
• Yeh Liu Ocean World.
• Ping Si railway travel for rustic railway and mining atmosphere.
• Jing An suspension bridge in Shi Fen.
• Release sky lanterns in Ping Si, Shi Fen or Jing Tong.
• Kee Lung harbour front and surrounding spaces.
• Miao Kou night market.

….. Day 3 Friday …..

Out of Taipei to theme parks!

• Leo Foo theme park.
• Window On China (Xiao Ren Guo) theme park.

….. Day 4 Saturday …..

People watch. Walk. Shop!

• Taipei Botanical Gardens, and/ or Da An park.
• Bi Tan Scenic park at Xin Dian.
• Gong Guan night market.
• Shi Da market market.
• Taipei 101: 4:30pm day and sunset view. Food court dining.
• Eslite 24-hour Bookstore Xinyi.
• Shopping and people-watching at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores. New York New York. Warner Village..
• Eat and experience Rao He night market.

….. Day 5 Sunday …..

Out of Taipei to Tai Chung!

• High Speed Railway travel to Tai Chung.
• National Museum of Natural Science.
• Feng Jia night market.
• Jing Ming street if time allows.
• High Speed or normal railway return travel to Taipei..

….. Day 6 Monday …..

Dan Shui. Miramar. Shi Lin!

• Dan Shui waterfront town.
• Ferry to enjoy Ba Li left bank.
• Catch sunset at Lover’s Bridge, Fisherman Wharf.
• Dan Shui old street shopping and snacking.
• To Miramar Entertainment park for Ferris Wheel ride.
• Quick shopping in Carrefour/ Geant hypermarkets.
• Shi Lin night market for shopping and snacking.

….. Day 7 Tuesday …..

In and out of Taipei city!

• Taipei Zoo.
• Louis Amusement park.
• Sun-Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
• Dan Shui to Kee Lung north coastal highway bus scenic travel.
• Kee Lung harbourside.
• Miao Kou night market.
• Railway travel back to Taipei.

Or alternatively..

• Fu Long beach. Eat famed Fu Long bian dang boxed meal. Then continuing the rest of ideas from Dan Shui to Kee Lung north coastal highway bus scenic travel..

….. Day 8 Wednesday …..

Final Fun!

• Packing up in hotel.
• Visit morning wet market behind hotel.
• Explore Xi Men Ding hub and lunch.
• Kuo Kuang coach to airport.
• Explore shopping and tea snack at airport.
• Return flight to Singapore!

Or alternatively..

• Taipei Zoo in the morning till lunch, before we check out of hotel..

• Breakfast will be enjoyed daily in hotel.
• Whenever we find free time after dinner, we may visit a night market.
• Eating at restaurants will be done spontaneously, when we are in the vicinity or feel to. But eat we will!
