Up the romance!
We had seen the Cake Shop on our way into Starbucks.
My wife had commented how fanciful the cakes were, so.. Maybe I could spring a surprise for her – as a special treat in this foreign land on this honeymoon? ;-)
If you’ve missed Part 1 of Day 3..
Gingerly, I made my enquiries and a very helpful gal got my order of a Cup of Tiramisu Pudding, slice of Light Blueberry Cheese Cake and Tuna Sandwiches. Chilled we did from 3:30 – 5:30pm at Starbucks. The crew service was great, even came serving warm water for the rainy weather!
I wrote a “Thanks from S’pore” feedback form in appreciation. :-)
Sharing an umbrella in the drizzle, we walked into MiaoKou Night Market.. Steaming rows of Food Streets so inviting with Crab Meat Soup, Fried Shrimps and Crabs, etc.. We settled to a less crowded stall for Crab Meat Soup + Glutinous Rice (TWD150 2 sets). Yummy dinner!
Explored through the rest of food stalls, the makeshift stalls, then strolled the flatted stores along the streets. Long stairs led into most shops and interiors were particularly large and deep.
Bought a stick of BBQ Squid (TWD50) from a friendly hawker – extra spicy! I was fed 3 pieces of chewy squidie, oozing with BBQ sauce fragrant and spicy. While I was busily leading the way out from MiaoKou into the Harbour area where the KeeLung Railway Station was, the rest of yummy-squidie was gobbled up (by you-know-who la)! :-(
It was more fun, eye-opening moments as we experienced our first railway train ride: from KeeLung Railway Station to Taipei Railway Station.
The night was still young. Upon reaching Taipei Station, we wandered from Caesar Park Hotel to ShinKong Life Tower. Like two excited kids, we rode the operator-served lift. Happily checking out the lift lady as she elegantly welcomed her passengers, announced the levels and managed the ride. Then we went happily checking out Shin Kong’s Food Court & Supermarket.
Got a box of Pineapple Cakes and Papaya Milk drink. Walked among the Friday evening crowds on our way to TS. Feeling for a treat, wife paid for a Frog-Lay-Eggs Bubble Tea (TWD30) at XiMenDing. Aha, bad timing! Couple-seller must have had a tiff. Both were black-faced and avoid looking at each other! Yikes!
We wrapped up the evening enjoying night snacks in our hotel suite. I took 3 pieces Pineapple Cakes and gulped the Bubble Tea..
